About New York Metro District
The New York Metro District of the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI), founded in 1985, serves the diverse communities of Jamaica, New York and the greater New York City area. Beginning with just 13 churches and 15 ministers, the district has grown to encompass 35 self-governing churches, 21 daughter works, 9 preaching points, and 140 ministers and pastors. As the UPCI's first designated Home Missions District, New York Metro pioneered Spanish-speaking outreach ministries and continues to blend Spanish and English participation throughout its congregations. The district emphasizes community, spiritual growth, and revival within a culturally rich and fast-paced urban environment. Leadership is provided by District Superintendent Bishop Henry Andrade and an executive board representing multiple sections. Visitors are welcomed to connect with a local congregation and experience worship as a vital expression of faith.
