About Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian Church in Mexico, New York is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a denomination shaped by Reformed theology and a distinctive representational form of leadership where authority rests in councils of both ministers and elected members. Presbyterians trace their heritage back to 16th-century Protestant reformers like John Calvin and have spent over four centuries responding to Christ's call by taking the gospel into the world and bearing witness to his saving love. The PC(USA) affirms that salvation through Jesus is God's generous gift, emphasizes the sovereignty of God, and calls members to service in the world and work for social justice. This congregation welcomes both seekers and members to participate in worship and community life rooted in Reformed tradition and commitment to faithful witness in their local context.
