About National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
The National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Middletown is a Catholic shrine founded to encourage and perpetuate devotion to Mary and her scapular under the title of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Ministered by the Carmelite Friars of the North American Province of St. Elias, the shrine welcomes visitors throughout the week for prayer and devotion. In addition to weekday Daily Mass, visitors may take part in days of recollection, novenas, and the sacrament of reconciliation. The grounds include a Carmelite Gift Store, a Cloister Walk with Carmelite Stations of the Cross, outdoor shrines, and outdoor Stations of the Cross.

Dress Code: Not specified — please contact the church directly. Service Format: Weekday Daily Mass is offered Monday through Friday at 11:30 AM. Visitors may also participate in novenas, days of recollection, the sacrament of reconciliation, and prayer along the outdoor Stations of the Cross. Visitor Tips: The shrine is open seven days a week, with devotional spaces on the grounds as well as a Carmelite Gift Store. Allow time to walk the Cloister Walk, visit the outdoor shrines, and pray the Stations of the Cross.
