About Young Israel of New Hyde Park
Young Israel of New Hyde Park is an Orthodox Jewish congregation located on the Queens/Nassau border in New York, offering a welcoming community atmosphere described as "a shul where everybody knows your name." The synagogue has served the community for more than half a century, providing daily minyanim, classes, and a newly renovated sanctuary. Among its notable initiatives is the completion of a mikveh in April 2013 and strong ties to the local modern Orthodox day school, Yeshiva Har Torah. The congregation is known for its hospitality, particularly to families and friends of patients at nearby medical centers, and is led by Rabbi Lawrence Teitelman. Young Israel of New Hyde Park emphasizes both spiritual life and practical community support within a heimishe (homey) atmosphere.
