About St John's Episcopal Church
St. John's Episcopal Church has served the Oneida community since the early 1800s, officially joining the Episcopal Church USA in 1843. The current building, constructed in 1893, stands prominently on Oneida's main street as a visible witness to the parish's Christian commitment. The church gathers for Sunday Eucharist at 9:30 a.m., with services available both in-person and online via Facebook Live, and rotates monthly among Holy Eucharist, Morning Prayer, and Reserved Sacrament Communion. St. John's is deeply invested in local outreach, including support for North Broad Street School, prayer quilt ministries, participation in Karing Kitchen's community meals, and regular food pantry collections. Under the leadership of the Very Reverend Arthur "Nick" Smith, the parish remains an active member of the Oneida Area Council of Churches and welcomes all who seek to worship in the Episcopal tradition.
