What to Expect as a First-Time Visitor to Asbury First United Methodist Church in Rochester, NY

Dress Code: At Asbury First, we have a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. You'll see people dressed in everything from jeans and t-shirts to business casual attire. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable.

Service Format: Asbury First offers two Sunday services - one at 9am and one at 11am. The 9am service is in-person only, while the 11am service is both in-person and live-streamed.

The services typically follow a traditional Methodist format, including: - Opening music and prelude - Welcome and announcements - Hymns and other congregational singing - Scripture readings - A sermon delivered by the pastor - Prayers - Offering - Closing hymn and benediction

Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month at both services.

Tips for Visitors: - Arrive a few minutes early to get settled and find a seat. - Greeters will be stationed at the doors to welcome you and answer any questions. - Bibles and hymnals are provided in the pews, but you're also welcome to bring your own. - Participate as much or as little as you'd like - feel free to just observe on your first visit. - Don't be afraid to ask questions! The congregation is very friendly and happy to help. - Head to the Welcome Center after the service to pick up information about the church and upcoming events.
