About St Peter's Kitchen
St. Peter's Kitchen is a missionary community organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity on Rochester's west side. Founded in 1982, the organization has grown from a Saturday soup-and-sandwich program to serving hundreds of nutritious, balanced meals daily Monday through Saturday from noon to 1:00 PM at 681 Brown Street. Beyond the daily lunch program, St. Peter's Kitchen operates a food pantry, a free breakfast program, and community support services, all centered on the mission of providing nourishment, community connection, and hope to individuals and families struggling with food access. The organization welcomes all visitors without questions asked, offering meals in a dining room or to-go, with flexibility to accommodate dietary restrictions and religious needs. Over 150 volunteers annually support these programs, making St. Peter's Kitchen a vital resource in a community where food insecurity affects more than 91,000 residents.
