About First United Methodist Church
First United Methodist Church of Saranac Lake welcomes visitors with a warm embrace grounded in Methodist tradition and inclusive faith. Located on Church Street in the picturesque Adirondack region, the congregation gathers each Sunday morning at 9:00 AM for worship, followed by a time of fellowship during Coffee Hour at 10:00 AM. The church emphasizes making disciples and followers of Jesus Christ through biblical principles, thoughtful living, and service to the community, particularly ministries that feed the hungry and support those in need. A distinctive fourth Sunday tradition offers Breakfast Church for those seeking a more informal worship experience. The congregation is remarkably diverse, drawing life-long Adirondackers, seasonal visitors, and transplants from across the Northeast, all united in beliefs centered on God-given human dignity, forgiveness, and the healing power of faith and prayer.
