About Friendship House
Friendship Baptist Church, formally established in 1919, stands as one of the oldest and most influential African American congregations in Schenectady, New York. Since 1956, the church has been housed in its historic building at 407 Union Street, serving as a spiritual and social anchor for over a century. Under the visionary leadership of Pastor William L. Hamilton and First Lady Nicole Hamilton, the congregation is committed to a transformational vision that meets the spiritual needs of the 21st century while honoring the traditions that built the church. The community welcomes everyone to join their family and discover the love of Christ through Sunday services, Bible study, choir participation, and various ministries dedicated to spiritual stewardship and community advocacy.
