About St Anselm's Episcopal Church
St. Anselm's Episcopal Church in Shoreham, New York has served its community since 1965, when Episcopal work began in the area following a November meeting of clergy and laity. The parish grew from its initial December 1965 service in a rented Lutheran hall, which drew 159 attendees, to becoming a thriving congregation admitted into union with the Diocese of Long Island in 1982. The church building, originally a telephone exchange, was purchased and renovated in 1969–1970, and a parish house was added in the mid-1970s. Today, under the leadership of Rector Rev. Jenn Pilat since February 2022, St. Anselm's welcomes all visitors with the message: 'Whoever you are. Wherever you have been. Wherever you are coming from. Wherever you are heading. You are welcome here.' The parish offers multiple weekly services and maintains active outreach through the Deacon Lorraine Cusick Outreach Ministry Center, which houses a thrift shop and food pantry.
