About First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church in Southampton, New York is one of the oldest Presbyterian congregations in America, established in 1640 by English Puritans seeking religious freedom. The church has grown from its humble beginnings in a simple meeting house to a vibrant community of more than 350 members worshiping in a beautiful wood gothic structure built in 1843. Today, the congregation remains committed to sharing Christ's love through service to others locally and globally, offering both in-person and virtual worship services on Sunday mornings. With a rich four-century legacy that includes merging with Bethel Presbyterian Church during the Civil Rights Movement in 1965, First Church continues to provide extensive programs for all ages while maintaining its faithful witness to the Christian faith on Long Island's East End.
