What to Expect as a First-Time Visitor to University United Methodist Church in Syracuse, New York

Dress Code: At University United Methodist Church, we have a casual and welcoming atmosphere. Feel free to come as you are, whether that's in jeans and a t-shirt or something a bit dressier. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable.

Service Format: Our Sunday worship service starts at 10:30 AM and typically lasts around an hour. The service is a mix of traditional and contemporary elements, including hymns, prayers, scripture readings, a sermon, and special music. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month.

You're welcome to participate as much or as little as you'd like. Bibles and hymnals are provided in the pews if you'd like to follow along. The words to songs and prayers are also displayed on the screens.

Tips for Visitors: - Arrive a few minutes early to find a seat and get settled. Ushers are available to help you find a spot. - Don't worry about standing/sitting at the right times - just follow along as best you can. - Feel free to put your offering in the plate that gets passed around, but don't feel obligated if you're just visiting. - After the service, we invite you to stick around for coffee hour in the fellowship hall to meet some of our friendly congregation members.
