About Sisters of St Joseph
The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia is a Catholic religious congregation with deep roots in Troy, New York and throughout the United States. Founded in 17th-century France and established in Philadelphia in 1847, the congregation has a long tradition of serving the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable through education, healthcare, and community aid. Today approximately 500 sisters live and work across 12 states, continuing their founding charism of uniting neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God. The congregation welcomes associates in mission and lay partners who share their commitment to spiritual and corporal works of mercy.
