About Troy Area United Ministries
Troy Area United Ministries is an interfaith ministry organization founded in 1986 through the consolidation of two local faith communities, dedicated to serving those in need across the Troy area. Operating from their community center at 392 Second Street, TAUM partners with approximately 40 congregations across six denominations to provide comprehensive services including meals, furniture assistance, HIV/AIDS support through the Damien Center, education, spiritual counseling, and advocacy. The ministry serves over 2,000 people annually and welcomes volunteers and supporters from the broader community to participate in their mission of creating a safe and just space for vulnerable populations. With active programs ranging from the Furniture Program to community gardens and fundraising events like their FEAST dinner, TAUM embodies a collaborative approach to faith-based social service that brings together people of different backgrounds and beliefs.
