About St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Church
St. Volodymyr the Great Ukrainian Catholic Church in Utica, New York, was founded in 1951 by Ukrainian immigrants seeking a spiritual home in their new community. The parish purchased and restored a former Episcopal church building in 1952, and over decades expanded its facilities to include a school, auditorium, and a beautiful new sanctuary blessed in 1978. Today, the church welcomes an inclusive community and remains active in both preserving Ukrainian Catholic traditions and supporting those affected by the war in Ukraine through fundraising efforts including regular pierogi and cabbage roll sales. The parish is led by Very Reverend Michael Bundz and continues the legacy of spiritual leadership and community service established by its founders.
