About Greekchurch Holycross
Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church of Whitestone is a parish of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, spiritually shepherded by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America under the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. Led by Rev. Fr. Nicolaos Paros, the church serves the Whitestone community with a mission to keep, practice, and proclaim the Orthodox Christian Faith. The parish offers sacraments including baptism, confession, and home blessings, and maintains extensive ministries including Sunday school, the Holy Cross Stars Academy preschool, a Greek Afternoon School for Pre-K through eighth grade, youth programs (GOYA, JOY, and HOPE), an altar server program, and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. The church was founded when community members, including Mr. Elias Betzios, established this parish to serve the growing Greek Orthodox population in the Whitestone area.
