Mount Zion Baptist Church is one of the oldest churches organized in Nashville, Tennessee, founded in 1866 just three years after the Emancipation Proclamation. The church was established by Reverend Jordan Bransford and a group of inspired worshippers and has been led by Bishop Joseph W. Walker III since 1992. Mount Zion describes itself as a Word-centered, multi-ethnic and multi-cultural ministry committed to evangelizing the lost, equipping believers, and providing holistic ministry to the community and world. The church operates multiple campuses with weekly services and offers numerous ministries including college groups, evangelism, prayer, small groups, and discipleship.
