About Vortex Church - East
Vortex Church - East is a non-denominational congregation located in Albemarle, North Carolina, that was planted in 2012 by Lead Pastor Kevin Simmons and his wife Amanda with the vision of creating a life-giving, Gospel-centered beacon of hope in central, rural North Carolina. The church describes itself as ethnically reflective and multigenerational, welcoming people from diverse backgrounds to experience a relationship with Jesus. Vortex East gathers for Sunday worship services at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., featuring contemporary worship music in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The church offers specialized ministries including Vortex Kids for children from six weeks old through elementary age, a distraction-free adult auditorium for focused worship, and Student Tribe for middle and high school students.
