About First Congregational United Church Of Christ
First Congregational United Church of Christ in Asheboro is part of the United Church of Christ denomination, a church with deep Protestant roots tracing back to the Reformation. The UCC is known as a church of firsts, having historically taken bold stands for justice and inclusion, including being the first predominantly white denomination to ordain African American clergy, women, and openly gay ministers, and the first Christian denomination to affirm same-gender marriage.
