About First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian Church (USA) congregation in downtown Durham, established in 1871. It is the oldest of Durham’s ten PCUSA churches. The congregation describes itself as welcoming people of every age, race, nationality, gender, ability, sexual orientation, and economic circumstance. Its buildings also house First Presbyterian Day School, a five-star child care program. Church programs include children’s ministry and a youth group, and the listed weekly schedule includes yoga on Monday afternoon and Friday morning.
