About St Josephs Episcopal Church
St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church is an Episcopal parish in Durham with a liturgical worship life centered on the Eucharist, daily prayer, Scripture, and fellowship. Sunday Eucharist is offered at 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM, with Morning Prayer on weekdays and Evening Prayer on Wednesday. The Rev. Dr. Lauren Winner serves as vicar. The church building is closed until further notice because of structural damage, and services are being held in the parish house. St. Joseph’s also has children’s ministry and youth group programs. St. Basil Romanian Orthodox Church meets upstairs in the parish hall on Sunday mornings.

Building completed in 1908
The congregation began in 1894 as Sunday School classes for William Erwin’s employees and became a mission of St. Philip’s Episcopal four years later. The current church building was completed in 1908.
