About New Garden Friends Meeting
New Garden Friends Meeting is an inclusive, welcoming faith community in the Quaker tradition, grounded in more than 270 years of local heritage in Greensboro, North Carolina. The meeting seeks to find "that of God" in every person and welcomes those from a wide range of religious backgrounds and traditions. Members and visitors gather to encounter the Divine through direct, firsthand experience, guided by what Quakers call the Inward Light or Inward Spirit. The community is engaged both in spiritual practice and in service to the broader world, reflecting Quaker values of simplicity, peace, integrity, and equality.

Dress Code: Not specified — please contact the church directly. Service Format: Two Sunday services are offered: an Unprogrammed Meeting for Worship at 9:00–9:45 a.m., which consists of silent, expectant waiting where messages are shared only if someone is led by the Spirit to speak; and a Semi-programmed Meeting for Worship at 11:00 a.m., which includes music and a prepared message in the first half, followed by silent waiting worship in the second half. Visitor Tips: Visitors are warmly invited to come and experience the meeting firsthand. Quakers believe all people are ministers, and visitors may speak if moved to do so during the silent portions of worship, though silent presence is equally valued and meaningful.
