About Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church
Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church, founded in 1782, is the oldest Methodist congregation in Greenville, North Carolina, and is recognized as a Lighthouse Congregation by the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church. The church welcomes all visitors and is committed to fostering a haven of peace and hospitality through worship, discipleship, mission, sacrament, and pastoral care. Jarvis Memorial offers two Sunday worship services—a contemporary service at 9:00 AM in the Taft Christian Life Center and a traditional service at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary—with Sunday School for all ages at 10:00 AM. The congregation is actively engaged in music ministries, youth programs, children's activities, and mission work, including outreach such as the PB&J Ministry and shelter meal service.
