About Camp Tekoa

Camp Tekoa is a United Methodist summer camp and retreat center located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Hendersonville, North Carolina. Founded in 1949 by the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, Tekoa has served youth and groups for over 75 years with a mission of touching hearts, changing lives, and sharing the light of Christ. The facility offers a wide variety of summer resident camps, day camps, adventure camps, and year-round retreat and programming opportunities for groups of all kinds. Tekoa emphasizes community, spiritual growth, outdoor immersion, and challenging experiences in a natural setting, culminating each week with a candlelit gathering where campers are reminded of God's love as they prepare to return home.
