About The Village Chapel
The Village Chapel is an independent, interdenominational Christian community located in the heart of Pinehurst, North Carolina, with roots dating back to 1898. Founded by James Walker Tufts and first minister Rev. Dr. Edward Everette Hale, the chapel was established on the vision of Christian unity where people of different faith traditions could worship together. The church centers its mission on three pillars: worship of God through the Trinity, learning and discipleship in Christ, and sacrificial service to God and community. The Village Chapel offers three worship services each Sunday—a liturgically based 8:00 a.m. service in the Anglican tradition using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, a 9:30 a.m. family service with children's sermon, and an 11:00 a.m. traditional service featuring choir and organ—along with extensive Christian education programs for children, youth, and adults, and numerous outreach and service opportunities.
