About Sandy Creek Baptist Association
The Sandy Creek Baptist Association, organized in 1758 through the efforts of Shubal Stearns, stands as the third oldest Baptist association in the United States, preceded only by Charleston and Philadelphia. Beginning with three churches at its founding, the association grew to forty-two churches by 1770 and expanded across a vast territory spanning from the Potomac River to Augusta, Georgia. Today, the Sandy Creek Baptist Association serves Southern Baptist churches and missions throughout central North Carolina. The association is committed to working together with member churches to share Jesus Christ with their communities, state, nation, and world. It offers opportunities for training, fellowship, missions, evangelism, and ministry for all ages, welcoming visitors to join with one of its churches and experience the life of following Jesus.
