About Center United Methodist
Center United Methodist is a Snow Camp congregation with roots in the area’s Methodist history. The church says it has disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church and is now part of the Global Methodist Church. Its records mention a quarterly meeting at Lindley’s Camp Ground in 1842, and construction of a church building began in 1850 on land donated by Anderson T. Glenn. A second building was erected in 1888. After a fire destroyed the church building in September 1955, the congregation rebuilt.
