About The Church of The Advent
The Church of the Advent is a growing Anglican congregation in Southern Pines, North Carolina, established in September 2022 as part of the Anglican Diocese of the Living Word. Led by Fr. Michael J. McKinnon, the church is committed to sacramental and biblical worship rooted in the ancient Catholic tradition and the authority of Holy Scripture. The congregation emphasizes evangelism, discipleship for all ages, and community service, with Fr. McKinnon actively serving as Fire Chaplain for the Southern Pines Fire Department and on various local boards. The church welcomes visitors seeking worship in the Great Tradition and invites them to experience their community of faith.
