About Johns Episcopal Church Saint
St. John’s Episcopal Church is a liturgical Episcopal parish in Sylva and part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. The parish was first planned in 1879 and has been on Jackson Street since 1912; its current church building was built in 1956. Each Sunday morning, the bell chosen by Dillard L. Love is rung. St. John’s describes itself as an affirming, inclusive parish and holds an annual Pride Mass. The church’s history in Sylva and its Anglican identity shape a worshiping community rooted in Episcopal tradition.
