About Church Initiative
Church Initiative is a nondenominational, nonprofit ministry headquartered in Wake Forest, North Carolina, dedicated to equipping churches worldwide with video-based support group curriculums for people experiencing life crises. Founded in 1994 by Steve and Cheryl Grissom out of their personal journey through pain and loss, the organization has grown to serve over 30,000 churches globally. Church Initiative develops and publishes Christ-centered curricula including DivorceCare, GriefShare, DivorceCare for Kids, and Single & Parenting programs, all designed to mobilize compassionate lay leaders within local congregations to provide ongoing care and community outreach.
