About Rising Star Baptist Church
Rising Star Baptist Church is a historic Baptist congregation in Walnut Cove, organized in 1913 after a revival led by Rev. J.E. Harris and Rev. J. Jones. Rev. Harris served as the first pastor, and the church building was completed in 1916. Today the congregation is led by Rev. Dr. Jesse D. Jones, Jr., who became the church’s 17th pastor in March 2023.
