About Pleasant Grove Baptist Church
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church is a Baptist congregation in Wendell led by Senior Pastor Reverend Asa L. Bell, Jr., who has served since 2006. The church says it strives to share the gospel with believers and unbelievers alike. Its history reaches back to the early 1800s, when Rev. Andrew Pearce helped develop the church with ex-slaves. The current facility was completed in the early 1950s, and in 2007 the church purchased the former Carver School site, including two buildings and 10 acres of land. One of those buildings is used for community programs, church functions, and administrative offices. Sunday worship is held at 10:00 AM.
