About Hope Station

Hope Station is a community ministry hub located in downtown Wilson, North Carolina, dedicated to serving families in crisis through food assistance, emergency shelter, housing support, and financial aid. The organization marshals resources from local and state governments, corporate partners, churches, and committed individuals to address food insecurity and homelessness in Wilson County. In 2024 alone, Hope Station served over 3,300 people through its food pantry, provided over 6,700 nights of shelter across its men's and family shelters, and helped 44 households transition from homelessness to stable housing while preventing homelessness for an additional 20 households. Led by Executive Director Rev. Dr. Richard Childress, Hope Station operates as a compassionate lifeline offering wrap-around services and social work support to help neighbors navigate personal crises and rebuild their lives with dignity and lasting transformation.
