About Gran Lutheran Church
Gran Lutheran Church, located in rural Mayville, North Dakota, was organized in 1873 by Norwegian settlers in the Goose River valley and remains one of the oldest church buildings in the area, still worshiping in its well-kept 1881 structure. The church is part of the Mayville-Gran Lutheran Parish, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and offers summer Sunday evening worship at 6:45 p.m. The congregation has deep historical roots in the region, having sponsored one of the first schools in the area in 1878 and maintaining strong community ties through its ministry. Today, under interim pastoral leadership, Gran Lutheran continues to welcome visitors and members alike to participate in worship and faith community.
