About Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland
The Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland have served the community since 1850, when four sisters arrived from France to establish their religious community and found Ursuline Academy. Rooted in the charism of their foundress Saint Angela Merici, the sisters embody a mission of transforming lives through contemplation, justice, and compassion. Today they minister across multiple levels of education, pastoral care, social services, and advocacy, serving people of all ages and backgrounds with particular focus on women, children, and those experiencing economic hardship. The community operates through various educational institutions including Ursuline College and serves the elderly, ill, marginalized, and faithful through hospital chaplaincy, spiritual direction, social justice work, and community support. Visitors and those seeking prayer or spiritual guidance are welcomed to connect with this long-established Catholic religious community dedicated to Gospel witness and hope.
