First Congregational United Church of Christ in Elyria, Ohio, is Elyria's first organized church, tracing its roots to 1817 when missionaries from the Missionary Society of Connecticut helped establish it. The congregation has remained committed to downtown Elyria since 1981, serving as a vital community space that hosts lectures, performances, and concerts alongside its worship life.
