About Northwestern Ohio Synod ELCA
The Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is a regional body serving approximately 55,000 members across 143 congregations planted throughout 23 counties in northwest Ohio. Centered in Findlay, Ohio, the synod embodies a mission of renewal rooted in Jesus's commandment to love God and love one's neighbor, expressed through the 2026 theme "The Way of Love." With a population density of 6-8 Lutherans per square mile, the synod's parishes engage diverse ministries serving the 1.5 million people across their communities through worship, education, and practical action.
