About Churches United Pantry
Churches United Pantry (CUP) is a food assistance ministry founded in 2001 by several Lima individuals and ten local churches who recognized the community's need for food support. Located at 129 S. Pierce Street, CUP serves close to 2,000 Lima residents monthly, providing three days' worth of meals to each household visit. The pantry operates three days per week and requires only that clients meet USDA financial guidelines, possess a picture ID, and proof of residence; clients may visit once every 30 days. Additionally, from late July through September, CUP hosts fresh produce distribution every Thursday, serving 500-700 individuals weekly with seasonal offerings. The organization also maintains a community library established through a Girl Scout Gold Award project and welcomes donations of food and personal care items to support its mission.
