About Pleasant View Church Of The Brethren
Pleasant View Church of the Brethren is a welcoming, family-oriented congregation located in Elida, Ohio, just outside Lima. Rooted in the Brethren tradition of simple, peaceful faith lived together as a community, the church gathers believers from diverse backgrounds—urban and rural, young and mature, professional and working class—united in their love of Jesus Christ and commitment to sharing the Gospel with their community. Worship services blend contemporary praise songs with traditional hymns, featuring Bible-based messages that include a special time for children before they transition to Children's Church. Under the pastoral leadership of James Washington and his wife Sandra, who have served since 2019, Pleasant View offers Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., worship at 10:45 a.m., and Wednesday Bible Study at 5:00 p.m., with all facilities fully accessible to those with mobility needs.

Founded in 1889
Pleasant View began in 1889 as a second meeting-house for the growing Sugar Creek congregation. The new brick building was dedicated on Sunday, November 1, 1925.
