About St John Ukrainian Catholic Church
St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church is a Ukrainian Catholic parish of the Byzantine Rite in Lorain. Founded in 1913 by Ukrainian immigrants, the parish has deep roots in the local Ukrainian Catholic community. Its present church structure was built in 1922, and the parish remains part of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of St. Josaphat in Parma. Worship is traditional and centered in the Byzantine Catholic liturgical tradition. The parish also maintains community life through its monthly pierogi sales on the third Friday of the month from September through May.
