The Pines Christian Church in Mount Gilead, Ohio, was founded on December 13, 1984, by a group of Christians committed to spreading the message that Jesus Christ is both Savior and Lord, using the Bible as their sole source of God's will. The congregation transformed a former restaurant, motel, and surrounding 85 acres of property—graciously donated by comedian Bob Hope—into a welcoming worship center and community hub. Under the leadership of Dr. Jeff Collins, the church offers comprehensive ministries including Sunday morning and evening services, Wednesday night Bible studies on the Book of Daniel, and children's programs. The church emphasizes strong biblical preaching and teaching, with sermon series exploring books of the Bible including Matthew, Philippians, and 1 Peter. Active in both local and global missions, the congregation partners with organizations serving Christian camps, international churches, and children's homes.
