About Faith Church
Newark Faith Church is a non-denominational, Christ-centered congregation located in Newark, Ohio, with roots dating back to 1894 when it began as a United Brethren Church in a storefront on East Main Street. The church is led by Pastor Haley Akers, a lifelong East Side Newark resident and seminary student whose ministry focuses on serving the broken, weary, and wandering through preaching, teaching, recovery ministry, and community outreach. Faith Church partners with the Licking County Champions Network to provide support for individuals experiencing addiction, housing instability, and trauma recovery. The congregation welcomes everyone with acceptance and Godly love, believing that the local church is a tangible expression of God's love and a place of refuge, healing, and belonging. Beyond Sunday worship, the church emphasizes daily discipleship and community service, operating as the visible hands, feet, and heart of Jesus in Newark.
