About Neal Avenue Methodist Church
Neal Avenue United Methodist Church in Newark, Ohio has served the local community since its founding in January 1905, when Methodist families from the west end of the city established the congregation to avoid traveling downtown in harsh winter weather. The church moved to its current location in 1914 and has expanded twice to meet growing needs, with a major addition dedicated in 1962. Today the congregation of approximately 185 members centers its mission on making disciples of Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, mutual support, and active community service. Worship services are held on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m., preceded by coffee fellowship and adult Sunday school. The church welcomes visitors and new members as part of its commitment to grow in faith and share God's love through service.
