About St Joseph Catholic Church

St. Joseph Catholic Church is a historic parish in downtown Toledo, Ohio, with roots tracing back to 1854 when it was established to serve the French Catholic community. The church building itself, completed in 1879 at the corner of Erie and Locust Streets, has been carefully preserved and beautifully adorned with original statuary, stained glass, and a treasure of eleven bells in its tower. St. Joseph is known for its reverent worship in the Extraordinary Form of the Liturgy, using the 1962 Missal, and welcomes parishioners from throughout the area who seek a traditional approach to Catholic worship. The parish maintains a vibrant community life with instructional homilies, educational programs about the Mass, and opportunities for deeper spiritual growth through groups and volunteer service. All visitors are welcomed to experience the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in a spiritually nourishing environment marked by warmth and hospitality.
