Friendship Baptist Church is a historic Baptist congregation located in Kansas City, Missouri, with roots dating back to November 1914 when Pastor G. W. Boyd and ten members left Highland Avenue Baptist Church to establish a new worshiping community. The church is dedicated to connecting its community with Jesus Christ by sharing God's love with all people, emphasizing radical hospitality, the advancement of God's kingdom, and servant leadership. Under the leadership of Pastor James Allen Terrance Jr., who has served since 2003, the church has grown significantly and expanded its community impact through various ministries, discipleship programs, and outreach initiatives. Friendship Baptist welcomes visitors to come as they are and participate in their family-oriented worship services and midweek gatherings, which include family-style dinners, Bible study, and prayer meetings.
