About First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma has served the community since 1908, when a small group of Presbyterians began meeting in the Stephens County Courthouse before establishing their own congregation that same year. The church purchased its current lot and original building from Duncan's Baptist church in May 1908, and the present sanctuary was completed in 1933 with major renovations in 1978. Worship takes place Sunday mornings at 10:45 am in this historic sanctuary, featuring music directed by pianist and choir director Anna Adams and sermons from Reverend Mark Henslee that connect scripture to contemporary life. The congregation welcomes visitors to experience their services, which are also available online via Facebook, and offers additional spiritual growth through the Bible Discovery Group that meets Wednesday afternoons.
