About Emmanuel Episcopal Church
Emmanuel Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal congregation in Shawnee, founded in 1896 after Bishop Francis Key Brooke confirmed five people there. The church’s name means “God with us,” and its first building was established in 1897 at 10th and Broadway. The current church building, completed in 1909, is still used for Sunday worship. Emmanuel’s life is shaped by traditional worship, small groups, service, holy friendship, and growth in Christ.
