First Church of Christ, Scientist in Corvallis has served the community since its official chartering in 1911, with the current church building completed in 1936 and debt-free by its dedication in 1943. The congregation practices Christian Science discipleship, following Jesus' teachings and example in healing through prayer and spiritual understanding based on the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. The church holds Sunday services from 10 to 11 am and Wednesday testimonial meetings from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, with Sunday School for children and young adults ages 2-20 meeting at 10 am. The community maintains a strong commitment to youth spiritual development, sponsoring Bible study at a local youth correctional facility, camperships to Christian Science summer camps, and funding attendance at youth summits. Visitors are welcome to attend in person at 310 NW 16th Street or join services via livestream on YouTube. The congregation also maintains a Reading Room downtown at the corner of 5th and Madison, open to people of all faiths seeking spiritual exploration and prayer.
