About Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church
Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Corvallis has served the community since 1966, when it began as a new mission and held its first worship service at Wilson School before constructing its permanent building in 1968. The congregation gathers for Sunday morning worship at 9:00 a.m., where they receive God's gifts of forgiveness, new life, and eternal salvation through the Word and Sacrament, including traditional hymns, liturgy from the Lutheran Service Book, Bible study, sermon, prayer, and Holy Communion. Following worship, the church offers fellowship time with refreshments and a multi-generational Bible study from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. that welcomes all ages to explore Scripture together. Additional opportunities for spiritual growth include Tuesday morning Bible study, special services during Advent, Lent, and Holy Week, and a prayer chain for confidential requests. Under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Eric Bohlmann, the congregation emphasizes God's Word, worship, prayer, and the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion as central to their identity and spiritual life.
