About Eugene Buddhist Priory
Eugene Buddhist Priory is a Soto Zen temple in Eugene, founded in 1973 and part of the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives. Its practice is in the Serene Reflection Meditation tradition, known as Soto Zen in Japan. The community’s main gathering is on Sunday mornings for seated meditation, usually followed by a Buddhist service or ceremony and a Dharma talk. The Priory also offers early morning meditation and service during the week, a weekly reading group, and monthly silent days of meditation. Private ceremonies are available, including naming ceremonies for children, weddings, funerals, memorials, and house blessings.
